Palembang, 22 November 2019. Kanwil DJP Sumsel & Kep. Babel menggelar Gathering bersama pemangku kepentingan dunia pendidikan. Menurut Kepala Kanwil DJP Sumsel & Kep. Babel DR. Imam Arifin kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menjalin silaturahmi dan meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya membayar pajak sebab sumber pendanaan Negara terbesar dari sektor pajak. “Anggaran pendidikan Negara kita sebesar 20 % berasal dari pajak, bila sumber penerimaan kita kurang maka akan berpengaruh pada anggaran pendidikan tadi. Untuk itu perlu menanamkan kesadaran akan pentingnya pajak baik jangka panjang maupun jangka pendek. Jangka panjang artinya dimulai sejak dini, sehingga ketika sudah berhasil kesadaran akan pajak akan tinggi,” ucapnya.
Direktur Politeknik Sriwijaya DR. Ing. Ahmad Taqwa mengatakan pihaknya menyambut baik program Kanwil DJP Sumsel & Kep. Babel terkait pentingnya membangun kesadaran akan membayar pajak sejak dini, pihaknya akan mendorong kesadaran tersebut dimulai dari kampus Polsri. “Ada 8 juta mahsiswa di Indonesia, kita akan dorong mahasiswa kita untuk sadar pajak, tidak hanya bagi jurusan terkait seperti akutansi atau manajemen tapi bidang teknik juga akan kita dorong,” ucapnya.
Kepala Lembaga Layanan Pendidikan tinggi Prof. Dr. Slamet Widodo mengatakan pihaknya juga akan mendorong perguruan tinggi di bawah L2dikti untuk ikut mendorong kesadaran pajak, salah satunya mendorong perguruan tinggi untuk membuka jurusan pajak di perguruan tingginya serta mendorong kesadaran pajak perguruan tinggi di bawah lingkup L2dikti.
