Yayasan Perguruan Baptis Palembang menyelenggarakan sebuah acara bertajuk Perayaan Imlek SD Baptis 2020, Kamis (23/1), di Atrium Palembang Indah Mall.
Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dari pagi hingga sore, dan diikuti oleh sekitar 1200 anak, terdiri dari siswa-siswi TK, SD, dan SMP di Kota Palembang.
Menurut Ketua Yayasan Perguruan Baptis Palembang Paulus Bomantoro, mayoritas siswa-siswi TK dan SD Baptis merupakan etnis Tionghoa.
Ia menjelaskan, Imlek merupakan suatu perayaan kebudayaan Tionghoa, yang dapat dirayakan bersama dengan masyarakat Kota Palembang.
Paulus menambahkan, pada kegiatan ini digelar beberapa perlombaan, di antaranya mewarnai, modern dance, lomba busana, robotic, dll.
Kegiatan ini, lanjut Paulus, tidak hanya dalam rangka merayakan Imlek saja, tetapi juga sebagai ajang kreativitas para siswa.
Paulus berharap, melalui kegiatan ini, para siswa dapat mengukur kemampuan, agar didapat hasil yang terbaik.
Kegiatan yang dibuka oleh Staf Ahli Walikota Bidang Pemerintahan, Sosial dan Kemasyarakatan Herly Kurniawan ini, turut dihadiri oleh Staf Khusus Walikota Bidang Pariwisata Herlan Asfiudin.
